Saturday morning, week 3. In an attempt to be judicious in bet selections there are three games today that I have formal opinions on.

Ball state is the still the play of the day. That game is highlighted even further by the "look ahead" method. Next week North Texas travels to Georgia and you can believe they know that. Bad weeks of practice translates to games and while I wasn't at their practice, coupling together the 'look ahead' with a hopeful Ball State BCS run. Its BS in this one.

Within the 'look ahead' method the other games that sharply stands out this week is Tusla vs Oklahaoma. Last week we took Tulsa to not cover due to the fact that they would be playing oklahoma this week. Likewise the next game on the docket for Oklahoma is Notre Dame, the graddaddy of all college football scheduling dates. If you go through ND's schedule any year you'll see that most teams schedule an off week ahead of, or behind that ND game.

So for this matchup, interstate rivalry, big brother comeuppance and ND lurking directs me to Tulsa. The first half is 14 points, the game 28.5. I'd like the first half much better if it was 14.5.

Last game of the week within the MAC report Bowling Green at Indiana. This is the big non-conference game for BG, 2.5 point dogs at IU. Whether its a play or not this is a data point to watch.

Last quick hitter, 28.5 points being given to Tennessee at Oregon? What am I missing here? SEC school who has been underaceiving for some years against that Oregon offense. OK I can understand UT being the dog but four plus touchdowns? That line just seems wrong. I'll probably take Tennessee as well.

The schedule for the game is 9:00 AM PST: Bowling green and Tulsa play.

Then fortunately Ball state at 1:00 pm. If the first day picks come in, I'll probably fold them up into and onto the ball state play.

Last last quick hitter - USC does not deserve to be two TD favorites over anyone right now. Speaking of I'll also take washington state to not cover today due to their upset last week. Its an alternate play that is not available on all sites.

MAC Report - Derivatives Edition

Looking forward across the expanse of the MAC universe a huge matchup is coming up in Week 4 of the CFB season.

Former Norther Illinois head coach, and current NC State head coach, Dave Doeren will be playing host to top ranked Clemson at home.

NC State is 2-0. Looking at their first two games of the season we can see a missed Trap Game that was played Sept 7 against the richmond spiders.

NC State scheduled a cupcake BBall school and game themselves a week off ahead of this Clemson match up. Its those richmond type huge spread matchups (-23.5) we need to be looking for while scanning future schedules.

No line yet released on the Clemson vs NC State matchup but ahead of it coming out, I'm hoping for a two TD type line.

MAC Report - Starting Basis for Logic
The goal of MAC contenders is to go undefeated, get nationally ranked, and get into a BCS bowl.

Three teams still have a chance to do that:
1) No Illinois
2) Bowling Green
3) Ball State

At this moment, tuesday morning, Ball State is my big target play of the week, minus three (-3) at north texas. Ball State had a surprising season last year (9-4) and their coach is a long time small tier head coach looking for his own break out season. So far this season they are 2-0 SU and ATS, i expect to see them get some serious under the radar momentum this first half of the season.

Lee's MAC play of Week 3: Ball State -3 over North Texas

MAC Future Tense:
Currently I am going through the schedule for all interesting MAC teams, even outside the undefeated (kent state, toledo, Ohio) and looking for trap games. As these flesh out I'll lay them out here. Just a taste: Nov 6 Ball State hosts central michigan in the third to last game of the season the week before playing No Ill.

Ball State looking ahead, its a trap, taking the assumed points and dogs on the road.
